HISTORY of the Saint Albans Gospel Assembly, Inc.
The Saint Albans Gospel Assembly, Inc. (St. Albans Gospel Assembly, Inc.) was established in 1967. The founders, Bishop Everett C. Newsome I, Rev. Dr. Olga G. Newsome and Rev. Louise Greaves, all now deceased, with prayer and guidance by the Holy Spirit started the work of this congregation on Sunday, February 12, 1967. Initially, the church met at a location on Linden Blvd. near 194th Street in St. Albans, Queens. As the LORD continued to bless and to lead, the congregation moved in 1973 to its present location at 200-25 Linden Blvd., St. Albans, N.Y. Rev. Louise Greaves moved on to other work. Transition of leadership from Overseers, Bishop Everett C. Newsome I and Rev. Dr. Olga G. Newsome to our present Apostles was accomplished in December 1996 the church thrives under the leadership of senior pastors, Apostles Everett C. Newsome, Jr. and Marjorie Newsome.
The foundation of the church rests strongly on prayer, teaching, study of the Bible, and praise and worship. Through the years, this house of faith has at times been referred to as “a spiritual hospital”. From within this ministry many pastors, worship leaders, evangelists, and missionaries have been birthed.
The St. Albans Gospel Assembly, Inc. is involved in missions’ outreach locally and abroad, prison ministry, and experienced community outreach via soup kitchen/food pantry for decades (cessation 2015).
Other ministries of the house include Y.E.S., One Accord Men’s Network, Women on Assignment (W.O.A.), and Family Connect.
We are a church of believers exercising the ultimate mission to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
