Pastor Barbara Newsome, a native of Brooklyn, N.Y. is an associate pastor of St. Albans Gospel Assembly, Inc. She received her primary education in New York City and is an alumnus of City University. For some time she also attended Nyack College. In her early adult years, she accepted the LORD as her personal savior and joined the St. Albans Gospel Assembly, Inc.

As she matured in faith, the blessings on her life also became evident. She exemplified skills in music on the bass guitar, fantastic abilities and love of photography, and her warm smile embraced those that came in contact with her. With all of this, the LORD also granted her the opportunity to work for Verizon circa 30 years. The people skills afforded her through these different avenues were found to be very helpful as she labored in the food program of the church and community voting.

She was privileged to receive her biblical training from the late Bishop Everett C. Newsome, I and Rev. Dr. Olga G. Newsome for more than two decades. In 2014 she, serving faithfully and well, was ordained as an associate pastor alongside Pastor Erwin Newsome, her husband now of thirty three years. They have been faithful to this local assembly for over four decades. The LORD also blessed them in these years to be parents of a son.

Through her years of service, Pastor Barbara’s gifting has expanded her to have been choir director for over a decade at one time. She currently is a vital member of our praise and worship team. She loves to worship. This associate pastor lives by the motto that, “Nothing can separate us from the love of GOD”.
